Observations and commentary on life in and around Sylacauga, Alabama, USA. Famous for its white marble, native son Jim Nabors, and as being the site of a kamikaze meteorite, Sylacauga today struggles against high unemployment, declining census numbers, a stagnant economy, and the scourge of prescription and illegal drug abuse. However, in spite of the challenges, there are encouraging and inspiring happenings throughout this fine community. This is my view of The Marble City.
